The 3-phase plan most students follow

Phase 1 · Diagnose (Days 1–5)

Take a diagnostic. Identify your weakest 2 dimensions. Don't touch the other two yet.

Phase 2 · Targeted Drills (Days 6–20)

Daily 30-min focused practice on those 2 dimensions. Re-test every 5 days.

Phase 3 · Full Mocks (Days 21–30)

Sit a full mock every 3 days. Review weak items only. Walk in ready.

Writing

Writing

Templates accelerate Coherence — but only if you adapt them. Use the template's structure; replace the connectors with topic-specific transitions.

Speaking

Speaking

Record yourself answering the same prompt 3 times. The third is your real CLB. The first two are practice.

Listening

Listening

Predict the answer before you hear it. Verifying your prediction is faster than scanning options.

Reading

Reading

Skim viewpoints first. The answer choices reveal the question intent more than the passage does.

General Advice
Study Strategies

Time Management Is Everything

In the CELPIP test, every section is timed. Practice with strict timers from day one. For reading, spend no more than 10 minutes per part. For writing, allocate 5 minutes to plan, 18 minutes to write, and 4 minutes to review.

Listening

Use The Notepad Feature

CELPIP provides a digital notepad during the listening section. Write down key names, numbers, and relationships as you listen. This is especially crucial for Parts 3-6 where you need to track multiple speakers.

Writing

Master The Email Format

Writing Task 1 always asks for an email. Use a clear structure: greeting, 3 body paragraphs (one per bullet point), and a closing. Match your tone to the audience — formal for a manager, semi-formal for a colleague, informal for a friend.

Speaking

Don't Memorize — Practice Patterns

Memorized responses sound unnatural and score low. Instead, practice response patterns: 'In my opinion... because firstly... secondly... For instance...' These frameworks let you speak naturally about any topic.

Reading

Read The Questions First

Before reading a passage, scan all the questions. This tells your brain what to look for, making you faster and more accurate. Focus on keywords in questions — names, dates, opinions, and cause-effect relationships.

Study Strategies

Simulate Real Test Conditions

Take at least 3 full-length practice tests under real conditions: no pausing, no phone, quiet room, full timing. This builds stamina for the 3-hour test and reduces anxiety on test day.
