For example, Ottawa requires trucks to park a minimum distance from restaurants, and both kinds of business now serve full crowds at noon.

Furthermore, food trucks bring real benefits downtown. They give new cooks an affordable way to start a business, they draw office workers out onto the streets, and they keep quiet corners lively and safe in the evening. Banning them would make the core less interesting for everyone.

In conclusion, even after weighing the restaurants' concerns, a complete ban goes too far. Smarter parking rules would protect both sides, so I oppose the proposal.
