Optional CELPIP reading lesson
Learn what each part is asking you to notice, then practise the same reading habits in the original passages below.
Part 1
Correspondence
First identify who is writing, why they are writing, and what action or response is expected. Then scan for names, dates, and changes in tone.
Part 2
Text and diagram
Study the visual layout before choosing an answer. Match labels, times, prices, or locations with the related sentence instead of relying on one source alone.
Part 3
Information
Give each paragraph a short mental label. Use those labels to locate details, compare claims, and separate the central idea from supporting information.
Part 4
Viewpoints
Find the writer’s position, reasons, and attitude. Distinguish evidence from opinion, and choose an answer that matches the passage rather than a familiar outside belief.
These are original paraphrased study suggestions informed by the user-provided CELPIP Reading 5 and 7 books. They are not official CELPIP content or a score prediction.
